Robin Shufelt, CEO First Acre Insurance, Elected to CAMGA Board of Directors

First Acre Insurance is proud to announce that CEO Robin Shufelt has been elected to the Canadian Association of Managing General Agents (CAMGA) Board of Directors.

The appointment was confirmed following CAMGA’s Annual General Meeting held on May 20, 2026. The newly appointed Board reflects the strength, diversity, and national representation of Canada’s MGA sector, with leaders from across Western Canada, Ontario, Quebec, and Atlantic Canada. Robin joins a distinguished group of industry professionals who will help guide CAMGA’s continued growth and advocacy on behalf of MGAs nationwide.

Robin’s decision to stand for the Board reflects her deep commitment to supporting the MGA community as a critical driver of innovation and resilience in the Canadian insurance market. She brings a collaborative, future-focused perspective, with a strong emphasis on advancing digital enablement, strengthening governance, fostering talent, and championing responsible innovation across the industry. Her goal is to help ensure MGAs remain strong, relevant, and influential in shaping the future of insurance in Canada.

As CEO of First Acre Insurance, Robin has built Canada’s first farm-focused Insurtech MGA into a nationally recognized organization delivering modern, technology-driven insurance solutions for agriculture. In just five years, she has led the company from startup to scale, supporting Canadian farmers through a growing network of brokers and capacity partners.

Robin is widely recognized for her ability to combine innovation, empathy, and disciplined execution. Prior to starting First Acre, she served as Managing Director of Duuo by The Co-operators, where she led the development of digital, direct-to-consumer insurance solutions for emerging markets.

CAMGA represents the majority of MGAs in Canada and plays a vital role in advocating for its members with governments, regulators, and industry stakeholders. The Board will continue to build on the Association’s strong momentum, supporting the evolution of the MGA sector and advancing initiatives that benefit the broader insurance ecosystem.
